3. Once the 4 screws are removed you can gently separate the case from the top part of the Echo.
4. Once the case has been removed you will be able to see the inside of the Echo Dot.
5. Inside the Echo, you will notice that there are two circuit boards. The one with the ribbon cable attached to it is the controller board that has 4 buttons, volume up, down, mute microphone and the setup button.
6. The second circuit board is the mainboard that holds the processor, the micro USB power port and the auxiliary port for the external speaker.
7. If you remove everything you will be able to see the small speaker that is attached to the shell.
