The Metasploit framework is a penetration testing framework that allows you to find an exploit, and validate vulnerabilities. The Metasploit framework can be installed on Windows, Linux, and Mac. Metasploit has two versions, one is the open source and the other is the professional version that has support. The open source does not have support but it does have a community that can help answer some of the questions that you might have.
